《113-1 GHRM502》Exploring Luxury Craftsmanship: Ocean Alexander Field Trip
/As part of the Organizational Behavior course, our instructor, Dr. Heidi Chang, organized an insightful field trip to Ocean Alexander which stands as a leader in the luxury yacht industry, famous for its exceptional craftsmanship and innovation. Since its establishment in 1977, the company has become a top name in luxury yachting in Taiwan.
Our visit began with a guided tour of one of Ocean Alexander’s wealthy yachts. Ms. Dephnewen, a representative of the company, patiently answered our questions and explained the intricate processes involved in yacht construction. From the beginning to the finely crafted stern, every detail of the yacht was a testament to the company’s commitment to quality and luxury.
Following the tour, the president. Johnny Chueh delivered an engaging presentation where he shared the story of Ocean Alexander’s expansion into the North American market, and how they kept their business during the COVID situation.
Moreover, he shared about Ocean Alexander’s journey, management philosophy, and strategic insights. He emphasized the company’s goal of creating not just yachts, but unforgettable experiences for high-end customers.
During his talk, the president. Chueh also answered our questions related to the business and what makes Ocean Alexander a lead company and gave us relevant information about organizational behavior which we can relate to what we have learn during our class. He gave us valuable advice on market observation and analysis, inspiring us to think critically and creatively about leadership and business.
This visit was a remarkable opportunity for us to gain more knowledge of the luxury yacht industry. I would like to express our gratitude to Ocean Alexander for their warm hospitality, to Mr. Johnny Chueh for his inspiring talk, and to our professor Dr. Heidi Chang for organizing this remarkable experience. This field trip will undoubtedly remain a highlight of our academic journey.
