Jessica Lu

After earning my degree in English, I worked as a ground crew in the aviation sector for a few years. To be honest, although the work appeared fantastic on the outside, I felt stuck on the inside. My progress simply stopped when I reached a stopping point. That’s when I realized that I had to continue studying if I wanted to grow "further and broader," not just stay where I was. I decided to switch to business because of this. The IBMBA program at NSYSU is highly competitive, but more significantly, I chose it because of the “1+12” synergy that comes from an all-English, international environment. It seemed like the ideal starting point for me to resume my pursuit of a worldwide career.

The program’s ability to transform theory into practical application is what I value most about it. Consider the statistics course taught by Professor Cheng-Hsien Lee. I used to rely a lot on my intuitive feeling," but he showed us how to approach issues using evidence. Then there was the Business Ethics course taught by Professor Yi Liu. We were encouraged to ask questions and discuss opposing viewpoints in addition to reading case studies. It really improved my critical thinking skills, which are crucial for making judgments in the real world.

This place has a truly multinational vibe. Working on group projects with people from different backgrounds has truly broadened my perspective. Understanding those tiny distinctions in cross-cultural communication is a learning experience that textbooks cannot deliver, even though it isn’t always simple and pushes you far beyond your comfort zone. Through teamwork and the relationships you make, you are practically immersed in international business every day at NSYSU.

“You only live once” My journey through the IBMBA has been guided by this motto. This program has expanded my global perspective while also deepening my professional expertise as I move from the aviation industry to business management. In order to make a significant impact, I hope to take on responsibilities on an international basis using the analytical abilities and cultural intelligence I've acquired here. The IBMBA is the ideal platform to discover new opportunities and use your experiences as a competitive advantage, provided you have faith in the value you can produce.

Ray

This is Ray from GHRM MBA, National Sun Yat-sen University.

Before joining the GHRM program, I had worked in the international education field for five to six years. Over time, my role gradually shifted from an executor to someone more deeply involved in planning and coordination. Through collaborating with teams, supporting both local and international teachers, and leading projects, I began to realize how critical people management is to organizational success, and also how much I still had to learn. That realization led me to choose GHRM.

Choosing GHRM was a turning point in my career journey. At that stage, I was exploring my interests and considering a transition into the HR field. What drew me to the program was not only its strong business school perspective, but also its global environment. Studying alongside peers from diverse backgrounds, along with opportunities for exchange and dual-degree programs, has provided a meaningful bridge between my past experience and my future career in a cross-cultural workplace.

During my time in GHRM, I have come to understand how HR connects to broader business strategies, and how people-related decisions shape organizational outcomes. Through case studies and discussions, I was constantly challenged to think from a practical, real-world perspective. Working with classmates from different cultures strengthened my collaboration skills, while frequent presentations helped me communicate ideas in a clear and structured way. More importantly, the program reshaped how I see “people” in organizationsI. Different people and situations require different HR approaches, there is no single perfect answer. It always depends on the context, and that’s what makes working with people so fascinating.

For those considering applying to GHRM, my biggest advice is to stay proactive. The program offers many opportunities, which can sometimes feel overwhelming and chaotic. But at the end of the day, it is up to you to take ownership of your learning. Stay open to different perspectives, actively engage in discussions, and embrace learning by doing. It is through real challenges that the most meaningful growth happens.

Nguyen Thi Hong Dung

Hi, my name is Nguyen Thi Hong Dung.

Returning to academia after a few years in the industry was a choice to ‘become something bigger than myself’, and the IBMBA at NSYSU has been the perfect place for that transformation.

The IBMBA program is designed to accommodate both business and non-business backgrounds, making it accessible to students from a wide range of disciplines. It offers a balanced mix of lectures tailored for MBA students while remaining approachable for those without prior business training. The curriculum combines practical application with the development of research skills, equipping students with the ability to explore topics in depth at the master’s level. In addition to the mandatory core courses, students have the flexibility to choose electives based on their interests or professional goals, such as finance, marketing, or management. This flexible, self-designed structure allows each student to shape their own academic journey in alignment with their career aspirations.

Life within the program feels like living in a global village. Because the IBMBA community is so diverse, my daily interaction becomes a masterclass in cultural intelligence. Whether we are debating business strategies in a classroom or collaborating on a late-night group project, we are constantly learning from different worldviews. I don’t just study global business; I live it by navigating cultural nuances with my teammates from countries all around the world.

Outside of the classroom, my life in Kaohsiung has been the reset I truly needed. Choosing NSYSU was a decision to prioritize both my career and my well-being. One of my favorite things is the campus's unique location - tucked between the mountains and the sea. You can go from a morning lecture to afternoon surfing at Sizihwan or a sunset hike on Shoushan Mountain.

Kaohsiung itself is the perfect backdrop; it is modern and convenient without the overwhelming stress of a crowded metropolis. The pace here is peaceful, allowing me the breathing room to understand myself better while pursuing my Master’s. It’s a rare place where you can find both intellectual rigor and personal peace coexist.

Nicole

Hi everyone, this is Nicole speaking. After finishing my bachelor’s degree at NSYSU, I decided to continue pursuing my master’s degree here as well. There are several reasons why I chose to stay at NSYSU.

First of all, Kaohsiung is my hometown. I love everything here—the sun, the food, the sea, and more. Everything here makes me feel connected to Kaohsiung. Basically, Kaohsiung is my comfort zone. What’s more, we have a wonderful school, NSYSU, so there is no reason for me to leave my comfort zone.

Why choose GHRM?

I majored in Finance during my undergraduate studies, but I later realized that I am more of a “people person.” I prefer interacting with people rather than working with numbers. I emphasized many times during my interview that I really enjoy interacting with people. No one interacts with more people than HR professionals, which is why I am here.

Furthermore, we have the opportunity to study abroad during our master’s program. This is a fantastic opportunity for travel lovers like me. I also enjoy making friends with people from different countries. In my opinion, talking to people from different backgrounds helps me learn new perspectives and broaden my horizons. With all of the above, I believe GHRM is the best place for me.

What I learn from GHRM

The first thing is definitely cross-cultural communication. In GHRM, we will meet people from all over the world. We may face language barriers, different presentation styles, or even different eating habits during lunch. All of these are valuable learning experiences. After going through these challenges, I believe we will become more understanding, empathetic, and thoughtful.

Second, critical thinking is also an important skill in GHRM. We learn how to evaluate situations in a systematic and logical way. This skill enables us to handle problems more effectively and efficiently. As future HR professionals, we need to know how to solve problems smoothly and successfully. That is why we often use critical thinking in case studies.

Third, I would say crisis management. During a master's life, we may face multiple deadlines at the same time. For example, the deadline of a final report is in one hour, but your teammate has not finished their part yet. In this situation, we learn crisis management. Don’t worry—everything will be fine. A small final report won’t kill you.

For future students

Be open-minded. You will meet many different people here. Don’t judge others too quickly. Try to get to know everyone you meet. After all, you never know when you might need their help.

Be strong. You may face challenges you have never experienced before, but after going through them, you will become a better version of yourself.

Don’t be anxious. Everyone has their own pace in life. Just focus on your goal and keep moving forward. Don’t let others’ pace affect yours.

Jessica Kuo

My name is Jessica Kuo, and I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in the International Business MBA (IBMBA) program at National Sun Yat-sen University. At the same time, I work in my family’s business as a sales and administrative assistant. Balancing academic responsibilities with work commitments has not been easy, yet this ongoing journey has become one of the most meaningful and rewarding experiences in my life.

The compulsory and core courses in this program, such as financial management, research methodology, and statistics, have deepened my understanding of various aspects of corporate management. Through this diverse and interdisciplinary curriculum, I have gained a broad introduction to different areas of business management, while also strengthening my analytical thinking and adaptability across subjects. In addition, I appreciate the program’s small class sizes. With no classes exceeding 50 students, the learning environment is more interactive and engaging. This setting allows me to participate more actively during class discussions and feel more confident asking questions. It also makes it easier to approach professors after class for further clarification, creating a more supportive and effective learning experience.

As someone returning to school after a few years of work experience, the most valuable gain from this program has been a renewed desire for knowledge. Being back in an academic environment has rekindled my curiosity and motivation to learn, pushing me to explore new ideas and perspectives beyond my previous professional experience. It has also helped me reconnect theory with practice, allowing me to better understand the reasoning behind decisions I have encountered in the workplace.

In the future, I intend to carry this enthusiasm forward, as it will be essential for my continuous growth both personally and professionally. I hope to remain open-minded and proactive in seeking new knowledge, even beyond the classroom. This journey has not only shaped my academic path but also strengthened my commitment to lifelong learning, reminding me that growth comes from continuously examining my intellectual boundaries and pushing beyond them.

Tiffany

Hi, I am Tiffany. I have lived in Kaohsiung all my life.

The reason why I chose the IBMBA program in NSYSU is because of its profuse learning resources.

(And also because I majored in English)

After entering this program, I am available to know people with diverse cultural backgrounds and have opportunities to collaborate with them in multiple group projects.

Though sometimes I feel like I am not outgoing enough to socialize with others, it’s still a chance to push myself harder. For example, when I am invited to have dinner with new friends (even if they are foreigners), I usually don’t refuse them.

Also, since all the courses are taught in English, my speaking and listening skills have substantially improved, and it makes me speak English more like a native.

Studying here, you can enjoy an abundant exchange choice more than other places offer. So, I expect exchange opportunities to enhance my competitiveness, and then further broaden my horizon.

If you didn’t have international experience before just like me, the exchange resources here may be an incentive for you to try new things!

With the cultivation from IBMBA, I think I can be more confident in my future career.  Come and join us! Especially if you prefer to live in a place with a lower living cost, or you are a monkey-lover~

Andreia Tonet

My name is Andreia Tonet, and I am from Brazil. I am currently in my second year of the GHRM MBA program at National Sun Yat-sen University. I chose this program because it is fully taught in English, which was essential for me as I do not speak Mandarin. From the very beginning, the program offered an inclusive and international learning environment where I felt welcomed and supported.

One of the most memorable courses for me was Cross-Cultural Management. This class deeply shaped the way I understand people, organizations, and global workplaces. The concepts and discussions were not only academically engaging but also highly practical, and I am certain I will carry this knowledge into my future HR career. Through group projects, meetings, and class discussions, I was able to develop my HR skills while learning from classmates with diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

What truly made my experience special was the sense of community. I loved my classmates and my time at NSYSU, and I built real friendships that I will never forget. Through academic projects and extracurricular activities, I also had the chance to immerse myself in Taiwanese culture, which was both eye- opening and meaningful.

One of my biggest challenges was the language barrier during field trips, where interviews were often conducted in Mandarin. While this required relying on Mandarin-speaking classmates, it taught me humility, teamwork, and adaptability. Living in Kaohsiung, I especially enjoyed the kindness of the people. My Taiwanese friends were incredibly supportive, and I hope to keep these friendships for life.

I feel well prepared for my career, while also understanding that learning never stops. My advice to future students is to work hard, but also make time for friendships, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience you won’t get back.

Haley

My name is Haley Chen, and I am currently a master’s student in the Global Human Resource Management (GHRM)program at the College of Management, National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU). I hold a bachelor’s degree in International Business and currently work part-time as an English tutor.

The NSYSU GHRM program has provided me with an exceptional and well- rounded education in global human resource management. Its curriculum thoughtfully integrates theoretical foundations with practical applications, equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate complex international workplaces. The diverse and experienced faculty members have been instrumental in my academic development, offering both expertise and consistent guidance.

One of the greatest strengths of this program is its multicultural and multidisciplinary learning environment. My classmates come from various countries and professional backgrounds—including business, engineering, education, and hospitality—which creates a rich space for learning from one another. These exchanges have broadened my perspective, deepened my understanding of global HR issues, and enhanced my ability to work effectively with people from different cultures and industries.

Balancing my studies with part-time work has been challenging, but the supportive atmosphere at NSYSU—ranging from professors and classmates to the international student association—has made the experience manageable and fulfilling. Additionally, the international community offers strong support in both academics and cultural adaptation.

The city of Kaohsiung further enhances the student experience. With its friendly environment, excellent public transportation, and easy access to nature—from the ocean to the mountains—it provides an ideal setting for maintaining a healthy balance between study and daily life. This lifestyle has significantly improved my overall well-being and academic productivity.

Extracurricular activities and networking opportunities through the International Program Student Association have also been invaluable. These experiences have helped me build leadership skills, expand my professional network, and strengthen my readiness for future career challenges. Support services such as career counseling and language assistance further enrich the academic journey.

Overall, my time in the GHRM program at NSYSU has been transformative. It has advanced my academic and professional development while broadening my global mindset. The knowledge, experiences, and connections I have gained here will be essential as I pursue my career goals and contribute positively to the global community.

I wholeheartedly recommend the NSYSU GHRM program to anyone seeking a world-class, supportive, and globally oriented education in human resource management.

Morgan Yen

As a second-year GHRM student from Taiwan, I chose the program at NSYSU for its positive learning atmosphere and rich cultural diversity. From the very beginning, the welcoming environment and engaging activities created by the student association helped me connect with classmates from around the world and step out of my comfort zone.

One of the most impactful learning experiences was working on a real HR case study in collaboration with LungSoon, a tuna-catching company. Through fieldwork and team discussions with international classmates, I learned how to apply HR principles in real business contexts and discovered the importance of teamwork across cultures. Inspired by this collaborative experience, I later decided to take on a leadership role and now serve as president of the Student Association, organizing events that foster cultural exchange and strengthen connections within the GHRM community.

My international journey continued during the Dual-Degree program at Nottingham Trent University in the UK, where I gained a broader business perspective and developed leadership skills while working with even more diverse teams. Currently, I am preparing for a family business case competition in Vermont, USA, supported by professors and prestigious alumni from the program.

Thanks to the strong academic foundation, mentorship, and alumni network, I feel well-prepared for my future career. My advice for prospective students is to actively embrace every opportunity—the GHRM program is a transformative environment where you learn, grow, and build lifelong relationships.

Masataka Nedachi

I am Masataka Nedachi from Japan. My journey to the GHRM program began with a desire to connect my management experience with a deeper understanding of human resources. After years of management experience, I realized that effectively managing human resources is both the most rewarding and challenging aspect of leadership. This motivated me to pursue further education to enhance my skills and knowledge.

A memorable experience was conducting interview sessions at local chain restaurants in a Consulting Methods & Practice class. My team members diligently crafted effective interview questions to enhance employee training at local chain restaurants. Convincing their HR department of these establishments of our proposals gave us a deep sense of achievement. We learned that teamwork, perseverance, and openness to innovative ideas are essential for overcoming challenges and reaching goals.

Living in Kaohsiung, I value its relaxed atmosphere and convenient accessibility. The international airport facilitates travel, and the MRT and a unique circle LRT help me explore comfortably. Passing the TOCFL C1 in Chinese boosted my confidence in communication and enabled me to build deeper connections with local students and the community.

Balancing studies, group projects, language learning, and extracurricular activities such as the Chinese orchestra (國樂社) and cocktail club was demanding yet rewarding. Through these experiences, I developed valuable skills in time management, resilience, and adaptability. My goal is to pursue a career in tourism or hospitality, and I believe this program offers the essential tools to achieve that. To future students: embrace diversity, remain open to new ideas, and remember that a genuine willingness to learn and grow is key.

Sharon Huang

Hello everyone,

My name is Sharon Huang. I am a second-year master student from the Global Human Resource Management (GHRM) program at National Sun Yat-sen University in Taiwan.

Before I joined GHRM, I studied in the English Department at Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages. During my third year of college, I attended an online admission information session of GHRM. At that time, a senior shared about the courses, the international environment, and the learning experience here. I was very impressed, and since then, I hoped that one day I could join this program and study with students from different countries. Luckily, I made this dream come true.

For me, GHRM is like a small United Nations. In this program, I can take many HR-related courses, such as Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, and Organizational Theory & Management. Through these courses, I not only learn theories, but also gain practical knowledge and real-world cases. Group projects are also very common in GHRM, and they help me practice teamwork and independent thinking.

Another great part of GHRM is the professors. They come from different countries, and each of them has their own teaching style. This international learning environment gives me a wider perspective and helps me build an open-minded attitude. I have learned to listen, respect, and collaborate with people from different cultural backgrounds, which I believe is very important in today’s globalized workplace.

Besides academics, GHRM also provides many interesting activities for students. For example, the “SUP event" and ‘’Halloween Party”. Through these events, students can celebrate together, have fun, and also get to know each other better. In addition, GHRM often invites alumni and industry professionals to give talks and share their experiences. These sessions not only help us understand the reality of the job market, but also provide inspiration for our future career paths.

Finally, life at NSYSU makes the experience even more special. Our university is located by the sea, and we can always enjoy the beautiful ocean and sunset after class. This environment helps me stay relaxed and motivated even when the coursework is intense.

Overall, studying in GHRM has been a very valuable experience for me. It has given me professional knowledge, practical skills, and the chance to connect with people from all over the world. I believe all of these experiences will be very helpful for my personal growth and my career in the future.

HongBo

My name is Wang Hongbo, I was a master’s student in the GHRM MBA at the College of Management of National Sun Yat-Sen University (NSYSU) last year. I come from mainland China and because of the double degree program between NSYSU and NEOMA Business School in France, I came here to study. Whenever I recall this time of study, my heart is full of gratitude. This experience not only enriched my professional knowledge but also allowed me to find a clear direction in the field of global human resource management.

The GHRM program has a unique curriculum that considers both theoretical depth and is closely aligned with the actual needs of the industry. The International Human Resource Management Regulations allow me to systematically grasp the differences in labor laws in different countries and regions and understand how to avoid legal risks in the operation of multinational enterprises. Global Talent Acquisition & Selection teaches recruitment techniques and evaluation methods for candidates from different cultural backgrounds through many real-life examples. These courses are no longer boring theoretical indoctrination, but are combined with current global workplace trends, allowing me to directly relate what I have learned to actual work scenarios.

The international atmosphere of the program also added a lot of help to my studies. Exchanging and discussing with students from different countries and regions allowed me to understand the pain points and difficulties of global human resource management from multiple perspectives. Regular lectures by industry experts have exposed me to cutting-edge ideas and practical experience in the global HR field in advance. It is precisely with the professional ability and international perspective accumulated in the project that I can more calmly respond to the recruitment requirements of multinational companies and start my career journey smoothly when I graduate and apply for a job. If you are also passionate about the global human resource management field and are eager to improve yourself and open the future in this track, then the GHRM program of National Sun Yat-sen University is a platform worth choosing. Here, you will gain solid professional knowledge, a broad international perspective, and the key to a global workplace.

Sunny Chiu

Hi, I’m Sunny, and I’m from Taiwan. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Applied Foreign Languages. While I was doing my internship, I discovered a strong interest in the field of human resources. That’s what led me to study the Global Human Resource Management MBA (GHRM MBA) program at NSYSU. I was particularly drawn to this program because of its all-English curriculum and international learning environment. As someone with a background in foreign languages, I was looking for a program where I could continue developing my skills in an English-speaking context while exploring the HR field. GHRM offered the perfect opportunity to combine language, business, and HR.

Hands-On Learning Through Courses and Projects

One of the best things about the GHRM program is its strong emphasis on practical experience. Many courses are paired with real-world projects and competitions. I’ve had the chance to take part in the Hult Prize, Social Innovation competition, and consulting projects—all of which are embedded within course structures. These experiences allowed me to work with classmates from different countries and cultural backgrounds. Through team collaboration, we learned not only HR theories but also how to apply them in diverse, multicultural contexts. It’s an excellent environment for building cross-cultural communication and international collaboration skills.

My Favorite Experience: Social Innovation Competition

One of my most memorable experiences was the Social Innovation Contest. I was honored to receive first place in the course, and it was a truly eye-opening journey. I worked with two international students and one local teammate, and together we went through several professor-led workshops that helped us shape and refine our ideas. One special part of this experience was traveling to Pingtung to consult with agricultural experts and local farmer associations. Their insights gave us real-world context that helped us improve our project.

From this experience, I learned the value of field research, active communication, and adaptability when working with teammates from different cultural and academic backgrounds.

Life in GHRM: Cost vs. Value

Compared to standard master's programs in Taiwan, GHRM’s tuition is slightly higher. However, the English-taught environment, diverse global exposure, and rich international resources—including dual-degree and exchange programs—make it a highly worthwhile investment. There are also many scholarship opportunities, and the professors are approachable and willing to support students both academically and personally. The university is located in Kaohsiung, and NSYSU itself is beautifully nestled between the mountains and the sea. Studying here feels refreshing, as the stunning ocean and mountain views help ease academic stress. With Kaohsiung’s relatively low cost of living, it’s truly an ideal place for students to live and learn.

Advice to Future GHRM Students

If you’re considering joining the GHRM program, my biggest advice is to step out of your comfort zone. Don’t be afraid to speak up in class, ask questions, and most importantly, connect with international classmates. The program gives you a great platform to grow, but you need to take the initiative to make the most of it. Your mindset is your passport!

Jessica

My name is Jessica from Taiwan, and I am a second-year student in the GHRM MBA program at NSYSU. I chose GHRM because of its abundant resources and, most importantly, the full English learning environment. With a background in labor relations, I wanted to further explore human resource management in an international program that would truly challenge and inspire me.

One highlight of my journey was the Consulting Methods and Practice course. My team worked with Soonyi Sushi, where we conducted interviews with both frontline staff and headquarters employees, then provided suggestions for internal training. Collaborating with six teammates from four different countries was an unforgettable experience. We combined our different perspectives and strengths, and in the end, delivered a project we were all proud of.

The GHRM community is diverse and supportive. My classmates come from around the world, and their openness encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone. Before joining the program, I was nervous about speaking English in public. However, through discussions, teamwork, and friendships, I realized that communication is about connection, not perfection. This environment helped me build confidence and discover my voice.

Beyond academics, I had the incredible opportunity to join classmates from Belgium, China, and Japan in the Hult Prize competition. Presenting in English on stage and winning first place at NSYSU was something I never thought possible. My advice to future students is simple: remember that graduate school is all about learning what you haven’t yet mastered. Don’t be afraid or self-conscious—embrace every challenge, and you will grow in ways you never imagined.

Ginny

My name is Liao, Ying Tzu (Ginny), from Taiwan, and I am currently in my third year of the GHRM MBA program at NSYSU.

My motivation for applying to the GHRM program was the opportunity to study abroad in Europe. However, after joining the GHRM family, I realized that I gained much more than just the chance to go on exchange.

In class, through active discussions, I have learned a great deal of professional knowledge in HR. My English has also improved significantly in the full-English learning environment. Outside of class, I often spend time with classmates from different countries—sometimes sharing meals, sometimes traveling together. These have become some of my most precious memories.

In addition, I actively participated in many activities organized by the student association. I still remember one event where we visited Meinong to make traditional paper umbrellas—it was so much fun and left a deep impression on me.

I am truly happy that I joined GHRM. It has been one of the best choices I have ever made in my life!

Ivy

My name is Ivy Chang, and I’m from Taipei. I just graduated from the GHRM MBA program at NSYSU. I chose this program because it’s fully English-taught, offers exchange and dual-degree opportunities, and focuses on human resources.

One of the most memorable courses was The Practice of Corporate Ethics and Social Responsibility. We engaged in debates about ethical and unethical behaviors in business, which deepened my understanding of real-world corporate dilemmas. The learning environment was diverse and enriching, with classmates from Thailand, Indonesia, the U.S., and more. I had the chance to exchange cultures and significantly improve my English communication skills.

Besides taking courses, I also worked as a teaching assistant and student assistant in the office. One of the biggest challenges I faced was time management—especially during my final semester, balancing thesis writing, job hunting, and assistant duties. I learned to prioritize and stay organized to manage all responsibilities effectively.

During my exchange in France, I met many international friends from countries like France, Italy, and Spain. Talking with them helped me appreciate cultural differences, and traveling across Europe, especially visiting Iceland’s glaciers, gave me a deep sense of awe for nature and the importance of protecting our planet.

My advice to future students: Stay curious and open-minded. The world is vast and full of possibilities.

Ariel

Hi, I’m Ariel, a GHRM student who graduated in 2025. When I decided to join the MBA program at NSYSU, I was drawn to its international curriculum, practical learning opportunities, and the chance to return to Kaohsiung—a city full of warmth, sunshine, and friendly people.

One of my most memorable experiences was participating in a University Social Responsibility (USR) project, where I worked as an assistant to help bachelor’s degree students create solutions for real-world challenges. The professors in our program truly encouraged us and gave many opportunities to grow.

The collaborative learning environment was truly inspiring—my classmates came from different countries, each bringing unique insights and experiences, while our professors promoted open discussion and critical thinking.

Beyond the classroom, I embraced exchange opportunities, including a semester in Germany, which broadened my worldview and strengthened my adaptability. My biggest challenge was managing group projects involving diverse cultural approaches to time and communication. Through patience, empathy, and clear communication, I learned to transform differences into strengths.

My advice to prospective students is simple: embrace every opportunity—whether it’s in class, during projects, or through cultural exchanges. The GHRM MBA is not just a degree; it’s a journey of personal growth, lifelong friendships, and developing the mindset to thrive anywhere in the world.

Phung Minh Toan (Eric)

Hello everyone, my name is Phung Minh Toan (Eric) from Vietnam. Although I am halfway through my GHRM MBA journey, my experience in Taiwan has been truly wonderful.

Studying at NSYSU, especially at the College of Management, has been an incredibly enriching experience. The learning environment is truly diverse, with classmates from all over the world, each bringing unique backgrounds and fascinating stories. Our professors, who come from various countries and possess extensive research experience, create a vibrant and engaging academic atmosphere. They are always enthusiastic and supportive, ensuring that students have the best possible environment to learn and grow. Additionally, the Program Coordinator team and the Student Association have been exceptionally helpful, making my transition to NSYSU smooth and offering a wide range of exciting extracurricular activities.

Before joining NSYSU, I spent three years working in Human Resource Management at a multinational company in Vietnam. This professional experience has allowed me to share meaningful insights and real-world perspectives with my international friends. I also appreciate the program’s well-structured curriculum, which offers a wide selection of elective courses, enabling students to tailor their studies to their strengths and research interests.

As Saint Augustine once said, "The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page." Beyond my academic life, I have embraced the opportunity to explore and experience different cultures. After my first semester, I embarked on a solo trip around Taiwan and shared my journey on social media platforms. Staying true to my study plan when applying to NSYSU, I take pride in sharing my journey at NSYSU and in Taiwan, hoping to inspire more students from Vietnam to explore new opportunities. I am even grateful to see that many Vietnamese students have become interested in applying to NSYSU after hearing about my experiences.

Enrolling in the GHRM MBA program at NSYSU marks a significant milestone in both my personal growth and professional development. I am confident that upon graduation, a promising career path awaits me.

Chaney Lin

One of the main reasons I chose GHRM is its all-English learning environment. It helps broaden my global perspective, and the diverse classroom, just like a small international community, allows me to interact and learn with students from all over the world. The opportunities for exchange programs and dual degrees also played a big role in my decision to join GHRM. In addition, the program offers a wide range of elective courses. Besides core HR courses, we can also explore different subjects across the College of Management, which allows me to dive into areas I'm curious about. One course that left a strong impression was Human Resource Competency Development. It invites alumni and HR professionals to share their practical insights into HR competencies and real workplace challenges. Through these guest lectures and case study discussions, I gained a deeper understanding of how HR functions in practice.

Mäel Cannavo

Studying the GHRM MBA at NSYSU was one of the best decisions of my life.

The first Week I arrived, I met my classmates — by the second week, they had become my best friends.

The administrative team has been very caring since we were accepted back in our home country, and they continue to guide us throughout our entire journey here in Taiwan. I truly believe that Taiwanese people are among the most welcoming and kind individuals I’ve ever met.

This MBA program at NSYSU is truly complete in terms of academic and cultural experience. You study with international students from diverse backgrounds, learn from inspiring professors, discover the language and the culture, conduct meaningful research for your thesis — and still have time to explore the beauty of the country.

The student office, the university, and all the student clubs organize many events around culture, food, music, and sports. I even had the amazing opportunity to join the Dragon Boat team and compete in this traditional sport for NSYSU. What an honor!
