Jessica

My name is Jessica from Taiwan, and I am a second-year student in the GHRM MBA program at NSYSU. I chose GHRM because of its abundant resources and, most importantly, the full English learning environment. With a background in labor relations, I wanted to further explore human resource management in an international program that would truly challenge and inspire me.

One highlight of my journey was the Consulting Methods and Practice course. My team worked with Soonyi Sushi, where we conducted interviews with both frontline staff and headquarters employees, then provided suggestions for internal training. Collaborating with six teammates from four different countries was an unforgettable experience. We combined our different perspectives and strengths, and in the end, delivered a project we were all proud of.

The GHRM community is diverse and supportive. My classmates come from around the world, and their openness encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone. Before joining the program, I was nervous about speaking English in public. However, through discussions, teamwork, and friendships, I realized that communication is about connection, not perfection. This environment helped me build confidence and discover my voice.

Beyond academics, I had the incredible opportunity to join classmates from Belgium, China, and Japan in the Hult Prize competition. Presenting in English on stage and winning first place at NSYSU was something I never thought possible. My advice to future students is simple: remember that graduate school is all about learning what you haven’t yet mastered. Don’t be afraid or self-conscious—embrace every challenge, and you will grow in ways you never imagined.
