Sharon Huang
/Hello everyone,
My name is Sharon Huang. I am a second-year master student from the Global Human Resource Management (GHRM) program at National Sun Yat-sen University in Taiwan.
Before I joined GHRM, I studied in the English Department at Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages. During my third year of college, I attended an online admission information session of GHRM. At that time, a senior shared about the courses, the international environment, and the learning experience here. I was very impressed, and since then, I hoped that one day I could join this program and study with students from different countries. Luckily, I made this dream come true.
For me, GHRM is like a small United Nations. In this program, I can take many HR-related courses, such as Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, and Organizational Theory & Management. Through these courses, I not only learn theories, but also gain practical knowledge and real-world cases. Group projects are also very common in GHRM, and they help me practice teamwork and independent thinking.
Another great part of GHRM is the professors. They come from different countries, and each of them has their own teaching style. This international learning environment gives me a wider perspective and helps me build an open-minded attitude. I have learned to listen, respect, and collaborate with people from different cultural backgrounds, which I believe is very important in today’s globalized workplace.
Besides academics, GHRM also provides many interesting activities for students. For example, the “SUP event" and ‘’Halloween Party”. Through these events, students can celebrate together, have fun, and also get to know each other better. In addition, GHRM often invites alumni and industry professionals to give talks and share their experiences. These sessions not only help us understand the reality of the job market, but also provide inspiration for our future career paths.
Finally, life at NSYSU makes the experience even more special. Our university is located by the sea, and we can always enjoy the beautiful ocean and sunset after class. This environment helps me stay relaxed and motivated even when the coursework is intense.
Overall, studying in GHRM has been a very valuable experience for me. It has given me professional knowledge, practical skills, and the chance to connect with people from all over the world. I believe all of these experiences will be very helpful for my personal growth and my career in the future.
