Haley
/My name is Haley Chen, and I am currently a master’s student in the Global Human Resource Management (GHRM)program at the College of Management, National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU). I hold a bachelor’s degree in International Business and currently work part-time as an English tutor.
The NSYSU GHRM program has provided me with an exceptional and well- rounded education in global human resource management. Its curriculum thoughtfully integrates theoretical foundations with practical applications, equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate complex international workplaces. The diverse and experienced faculty members have been instrumental in my academic development, offering both expertise and consistent guidance.
One of the greatest strengths of this program is its multicultural and multidisciplinary learning environment. My classmates come from various countries and professional backgrounds—including business, engineering, education, and hospitality—which creates a rich space for learning from one another. These exchanges have broadened my perspective, deepened my understanding of global HR issues, and enhanced my ability to work effectively with people from different cultures and industries.
Balancing my studies with part-time work has been challenging, but the supportive atmosphere at NSYSU—ranging from professors and classmates to the international student association—has made the experience manageable and fulfilling. Additionally, the international community offers strong support in both academics and cultural adaptation.
The city of Kaohsiung further enhances the student experience. With its friendly environment, excellent public transportation, and easy access to nature—from the ocean to the mountains—it provides an ideal setting for maintaining a healthy balance between study and daily life. This lifestyle has significantly improved my overall well-being and academic productivity.
Extracurricular activities and networking opportunities through the International Program Student Association have also been invaluable. These experiences have helped me build leadership skills, expand my professional network, and strengthen my readiness for future career challenges. Support services such as career counseling and language assistance further enrich the academic journey.
Overall, my time in the GHRM program at NSYSU has been transformative. It has advanced my academic and professional development while broadening my global mindset. The knowledge, experiences, and connections I have gained here will be essential as I pursue my career goals and contribute positively to the global community.
I wholeheartedly recommend the NSYSU GHRM program to anyone seeking a world-class, supportive, and globally oriented education in human resource management.
